Easternlight Films is pleased to announce that we will again be joining you at Filmart this year with our sensational slate of titles, which includes: SHANGHAI KISS, an East-meets-West romantic comedy starring Hayden Panettiere ("Heroes"); the action-packed FATAL CONTACT, featuring rising action star Wu Jing; dark Japanese thriller NIGHTMARE DETECTIVE; THE FOREST, an edge-of-your-seat horror; DOG BITE DOG, the latest hard-hitting film from director Pou-Soi Cheang, starring Edison Chen and Sam Lee; and SHANGHAI BABY, where the passionate, life-loving young writer Coco must choose between romantic love and unbridled lust...
In addition, we are proud to announce that BOBBY, the stellar ensemble film directed by Emilio Estevez and starring Anthony Hopkins, Sharon Stone, Elijah Wood, Demi Moore, Lindsay Lohan, William H. Macy, Helen Hunt, Heather Graham and more, will be playing in this year's Hong Kong International Film Festival.

SHANGHAI KISS (Romantic Comedy / Filmart Screening)

Liam (Ken Leung) is a struggling actor wasting his time picking up beautiful, plastic girls in hip Hollywood bars with his buddy, Joe (Joel David Moore). The closest thing to an emotional connection in Liam's life is a flirtatious friendship with 16 year old Adelaide (Hayden Panettiere - HEROES), a precocious high school girl who is actually more mature than Liam.
When Liam learns he has inherited his grandmother's home in Shanghai, he travels to the exotic city to connect with his ancestry and start a new life. He meets a sophisticated Chinese woman named Micki (Kelly Hu) and finds himself falling into instant infatuation with her. Liam decides to move to China, leaving behind Adelaide who is quite possibly the only girl who has ever loved him, but running away from his problems only lands him in deeper trouble.

Kong is Mr Nice Guy from Mainland China performing
traditional opera in Hong Kong. He is convinced by Tin, a
girl from the same performance troupe, to compete in an
underground all-contact boxing ring. With his outstanding
fighting technique, he is immediately earning fast cash
and Tin's attention. However fighting brings out the most
Monstrous side of Kong, hence great fear develops. While
Tin continues to comfort him, Kong falls in love with her,
though she obviously has reservation towards their
relationship. The boxing ring's owner exploits Kong
further. He almost dies in a fight and subsequently
discovers Tin is paid by the baddies to lead him on to a
no-return path...

A Japanese detective investigates two mysterious suicides, somehow connected as the two victims dialed "0" on their mobiles moments before their death. The detective comes to learn of a man who has the supposed ability to manipulate people's dreams, and if the case is going to be solved, the detective succumbs to the realization that she must dial the mysterious "0" herself...

DOG BITE DOG (Action Crime Thriller / Filmart Screening)

Starring Edison Chen and Sam Lee as a brutal hitman and sadistic cop respectively, the film revolves around Pang Jr., a young killer from Cambodia who arrives in Hong Kong to assassinate the wife of a judge.
After Pang finishes his job, he gets into a misunderstanding with his agent and is left stranded in the city's unfamiliar streets. At the same time, officer Sam and his team of detectives - Lam, Keo, Cheung, and Wai - arrive at the crime scene to investigate. Wai soon finds Pang with his intuition and starts pursuit, but is eliminated mercilessly. Thus, Pang and Sam become like two wild dogs attacking each other, with neither one wanting to stop until the other falls.

SHANGHAI BABY (Erotic Romance / Post Production)
