THE BANK JOB (formerly "Baker Street") (Thriller / In Production)
From acclaimed Director Roger Donaldson (THE WORLD'S FASTEST INDIAN) and based on the true story of the now legendary 1971 Baker Street bank robbery, this is a story which has remained untold for over 35 years due to a government gagging order. The Bank Job tells how one of the biggest robberies in British history took place with no arrests ever made, nor money ever recovered. It also tells the story of a vault full of secrets, the scandals that unfurled and the lives lost in the pursuit for the truth to stay 'hidden'.
In the tradition of classic British crime sagas such as SEXY BEAST and THE LONG GOOD FRIDAY, and with a gutsy performance from international superstar Jason Statham (LOCK, STOCK & TWO SMOKING BARRELS, SNATCH, TRANSPORTER 1 & 2) the long whispered and rumored truth of what really happened on Baker Street can now be told.
Director: Roger Donaldson
Cast: Jason Statham, Saffron Burrows, Stephen Campbell Moore

SEX AND DEATH 101 (Black Comedy / Filmart Screening)
- 20 Mar, 09:30, HKCEC Meeting Room 601
A devious new comedy from the writer of HEATHERS, SEX AND DEATH 101 poses the question "If you received a list of every person you have and eventually will have sex with, what would you do?" Roderick Blank's (Simon Baker) life is turned upside down when he receives an email a week before his wedding, listing every woman he has and ever will have sex with.
Driven by lust and curiosity he decides to eschew domesticity in place of searching out every woman on the list to find out if indeed the list is true. He soon finds himself falling for a woman not on the list - Death Nell (Winona Ryder) who turns out to be a psychopath, seducing men before putting them into a coma.
Both wildly subversive and achingly funny, SEX AND DEATH 101 is a pitch black comedy.
Director: Daniel Waters
Cast: Winona Ryder, Simon Baker, Leslie Bibb, Neil Flynn

NOISE (Psychological Thriller / Completed)
This is a story about the wrong person in the right place at the wrong time. Two heinous crimes have left a suburban town reeling. Police quickly connect them but are desperate for witnesses as the local community enfolds itself in a shroud of secrecy, borne from fear and an untrammeled mistrust of authority.
A young police constable, Graham McGahan, suffers from a chronic hearing problem and applies for worker's compensation. To his chagrin, he is stationed at a police caravan near the crime scene. Living on the periphery of the investigation, McGahan crosses paths with the various people affected by the tragedies and uncovers an unraveling nightmare of guilt and suspicion.
Writer/director Matthew Saville utilizes exquisite sound and production design to bring to life his astonishing script. Saville shifts the police thriller genre away from the familiar and onto the fringe with a fascinating effect. Rather than following the killer or the investigating officers, Noise looks at the ramifications of the events on the everyday people. This perspective creates a far richer exploration of what it means to be a hero or a victim. Noise fuses art and genre as well as any film in recent memory to construct a humanistic portrait of a flawed man searching for a thread of hope.
Noise recently played at Sundance in World Dramatic Competition.
Director: Matthew Saville
Cast: Brendan Cowell, Maia Thomas, Henry Nixon, Nicholas Bell

With a crazy blend of DOG DAY AFTERNOON and DAZED AND CONFUSED, HOW TO ROB A BANK is a trail blazing comedy.

SLIPSTREAM (Drama Thriller / Completed)
Slipstream is the debut into independent filmmaking by Academy Award-winning actor Anthony Hopkins. If it is ever possible to sense the liberation and creative passion unleashed by such a newfound freedom, we can experience it with Hopkins's inventive and multilayered work. The film features a sterling ensemble cast, including Christian Slater, John Turturro, Stella Arroyave, Jeffrey Tambor, and Hopkins himself. Aided by acclaimed cinematographer Dante Spinotti and celebrated costume designer Julie Weiss, Hopkins takes on us an incredible journey into the combustion of a writer's mind and the nature of the creative process.
At times, this film appears to be a conventional, concrete, and straightforward tale about a screenwriter, Felix Bonhoffer. Then it turns riotously hallucinogenic, taking off on tangents and down rabbit holes into dream worlds and streams of consciousness. As the characters from the writer's fictional universe begin to appear in his "real" world, the audience starts questioning the limits of the human brain. We are given an opportunity to see into the vortex of a creative mind fulminating in "madness."
With a structured elegance, at times an overwhelmingly visceral kinesthesia, overflowing with film and artistic references, Hopkins announces he is a filmmaker with an unwaveringly artistic vision on a mission into the ineffable.
Director: Anthony Hopkins
Cast: Anthony Hopkins, Christian Slater, John Turturro, Fionnula Flannagan, Kevin McCarthy, Stella Arroyave, Gavin Grazer, Lisa Pepper, Lana Antonova

Our stories find humor in the drama, heartache and confusion of love, in an entertainingly sexy and fun manner.
