THE BANK JOB
(IN POST PRODUCTION)

The Bank Job

From acclaimed Director Roger Donaldson and based on the true story of the now legendary 1971 Baker Street bank robbery, this is a story which has remained untold for over 35 years due to a government gagging order.

THE BANK JOB tells how one of the biggest robberies in British history took place with no arrests ever made, nor money ever recovered. It also tells the story of a vault full of secrets, the scandals that unfurled and the lives lost in the pursuit for the truth to stay 'hidden'.

In the tradition of classic British crime sagas such as SEXY BEAST and THE LONG GOOD FRIDAY, and with a gutsy performance from international superstar Jason Statham (LOCK, STOCK & TWO SMOKING BARRELS, SNATCH, TRANSPORTER 1 & 2) the long whispered and rumored truth of what really happened on Baker Street can now be told.

Director: Roger Donaldson

Cast: Jason Statham, Saffron Burrows, Stephen Campbell Moore

US Release: Lionsgate Films

Director: John McTiernan

THE TEN
(COMPLETED - MARKET PREMIERE)

20 May, 15:30, Palais D
22 May, 10:00, Gray 3

The Ten

THE TEN is comprised of 10 blasphemous and hysterical stories that put the insanity back in Christianity. Inspired by each of the Ten Commandments, every story is told in a different style, but the characters and themes overlap. It's all held together by a narrator who has his own moral problems. Finally, everyone is united at the end for a rousing finale that answers the question, "What's it all about?"

These hilarious stories feature a careless skydiver who becomes an accidental superstar, a doctor who kills patients as a "goof," two neighbors who compete over who can amass the most CAT-scan machines, and a woman who falls for all the wrong men, including a ventriloquist's dummy.

"David Wain returns to Sundance with a subversive, multilayered ensemble comedy from the creators and cast of WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER, Jam packed with huge stars who aren't afraid to let it all hang out, The Ten is a comedy of biblical proportions that pulls no punches in skewering the most sacred topics. God damn, this movie is funny." - Trevor Groth (Sundance program book)

Director: David Wain

Cast: Paul Rudd, Adam Brody, Rob Corddry, Jessica Alba, Winona Ryder, Liev Schreiber, Justin Theroux, Gretchen Mol, Oliver Platt, Famke Janssen, Ron Silver

19 May, 14:00, Lerins 2

Sex and Death 101

A devious new comedy from the writer of HEATHERS, SEX AND DEATH 101 poses the question "If you received a list of every person you have and eventually will have sex with, what would you do?" Roderick Blank's (Simon Baker) life is turned upside down when he receives an email a week before his wedding, listing every woman he has and ever will have sex with.

Driven by lust and curiosity he decides to eschew domesticity in place of searching out every woman on the list to find out if indeed the list is true. He soon finds himself falling for a woman not on the list - Death Nell (Winona Ryder) who turns out to be a psychopath, seducing men before putting them into a coma.

Both wildly subversive and achingly funny, SEX AND DEATH 101 is a pitch black comedy.

NOISE
(COMPLETED - SCREENING)

19 May, 15:30, Lerins 1

Noise

This is a story about the wrong person in the right place at the wrong time. Two heinous crimes have left a suburban town reeling. Police quickly connect them but are desperate for witnesses as the local community enfolds itself in a shroud of secrecy, borne from fear and an untrammeled mistrust of authority.

A young police constable, Graham McGahan, suffers from a chronic hearing problem and applies for worker's compensation. To his chagrin, he is stationed at a police caravan near the crime scene. Living on the periphery of the investigation, McGahan crosses paths with the various people affected by the tragedies and uncovers an unraveling nightmare of guilt and suspicion.

Writer/director Matthew Saville utilizes exquisite sound and production design to bring to life his astonishing script. Saville shifts the police thriller genre away from the familiar and onto the fringe with a fascinating effect. Rather than following the killer or the investigating officers, Noise looks at the ramifications of the events on the everyday people. This perspective creates a far richer exploration of what it means to be a hero or a victim. Noise fuses art and genre as well as any film in recent memory to construct a humanistic portrait of a flawed man searching for a thread of hope.

Noise recently played at Sundance in World Dramatic Competition.

Director: Matthew Saville

Cast: Brendan Cowell, Maia Thomas, Henry Nixon, Nicholas Bell
