BOBBY is a fictionalised account of various people whose lives intersect in the hours leading up to and including the assassination of Senator Robert. F. Kennedy at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles.

The film is a journey of the heart that examines the relationships between men and women, between races and the social divisions that have clipped away the foundation of our humanity. We are given a glimpse into how life can be drastically changed in a moment in time, an indelible event in our nation's history. The characters are ordinary Americans who find themselves at the epicentre of one of the most important incidents of the 20th Century.

BOBBY is not a political story, though politics are certainly an undercurrent. It is not the story of Bobby Kennedy (seen solely in newsreel footage). Rather, it is the story of all of us.

BOBBY is seen through the eyes of twenty-two characters. The hope, excitement and notion that a change is in the air, which Kennedy ignited in us all, black and white, rich and poor, young and old was extinguished that evening in June. From young men in their late teens to early twenties, facing the possibility of shipping off to Vietnam, to the retired doorman of the Ambassador, who has greeted the likes of every U.S. President from FDR to Johnson. From the hotel staff to the guests whom occupy the suites, to the "Youth of Kennedy Volunteers", all ages and genders are represented in screenplay.

When celebrated wit and dandy Truman Capote journeys to Kansas to research a brutal multiple murder, his intelligence and cunning are put to the test when he comes face to face with cold blooded killer Perry Smith.

Even with his formidable guile, Capote finds himself faced with an impenetrable mystery in Perry. To plumb Perry's enigmatic soul, the artful Capote must bare his own and in exposing the hidden recesses of their damaged pasts, two men from worlds apart share something even the famously glib bon vivant will never recover from. Chronicling the sensational story behind the creation of Capote's iconoclastic opus "In Cold Blood" and his scandalous affair with its doomed subject.

INFAMOUS follows the acclaimed writer's journey into the underbelly of heartland America on his quest for truth and the devastating price he pays to find it. Acclaimed Director Douglas McGrath and virtuoso Producer Christine Vachon have assembled a stunning ensemble cast, Sandra Bullock bringing an emotional complexity to her portrayal of novelist Harper Lee, while Gwyneth Paltrow, Sigourney Weaver and the luminous Isabelle Rossellini have never been in better form. The film also features career best performances from Toby Jones, who electrifies as the iconic Truman and newly crowned James Bond – Daniel Craig, as killer Perry Smith.

Review by David Thomson of The Independent:

"The best new film I've seen this year is about the writer Truman Capote... English actor, Toby Jones, is Capote without the least hint of impersonation. He looks and sounds not only more like the real Truman Capote, he is the man... believe me, this is a better performance than Philip Seymour Hoffman's..."

"Perry Smith is played by Daniel Craig... He is - as I'm sure you know - the new James Bond... And in a year's time, I suspect, it will be taken for granted that he is one of the best screen actors anywhere - and a great part of that will be because of Infamous..."

Director: Douglas McGrath

Cast: Toby Jones, Sandra Bullock, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sigourney Weaver, Daniel Craig, Jeff Daniels, Isabella Rossellini, Hope Davis (Credits may not be contractual)
