Bobby is a fictionalized account of various people whose lives intersect in the hours leading up to and including the assassination of Senator Robert F. Kennedy at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles. The film is a journey of the heart that examines the relationships between men and women, between races and social divisions that have clipped away the foundation of our humanity. We are given a glimpse into how life can be drastically changed in a moment in time, an indelible event in American history. The characters in Bobby are ordinary Americans who find themselves at the epicenter of one of the most important incidents of the 20th Century.
Bobby is not a political story, although politics are certainly an undercurrent. It is not the story of Bobby Kennedy (seen solely in newsreel footage). Rather, it is the story of all of us.
Bobby is seen through the eyes of twenty-two characters.
The hope, excitement and notion that a change was in the air, which Kennedy ignited in us all, black and white, rich and poor, young and old was extinguished that evening in June.
From young men in their late twenties to early twenties, facing the possibility of shipping off to Vietnam, to the retired doorman of the Ambassador, who has greeted the likes of every U.S. President from FDR to Johnson. From the hotel staff to the guests whom occupy the suites, to the “Youth of Kennedy Volunteers”, all ages, races and genders are represented in the screenplay...
Emilio Estevez has written an inspired and assured screenplay, a microcosm of humanity, intricately interweaving the lives of 22 distinctively different characters over the course of one fateful day. Sure to draw strong comparisons to the great ensemble works of Robert Altman and Paul Thomas Anderson, Bobby is a poignant and powerful look back at an America of the past and a startling reflection on the world we live in now.
Director: Emilio Estevez
Cast: Anthony Hopkins, Sharon Stone, Elijah Wood, Demi Moore, William H. Macy, Lindsay Lohan, Emilio Estevez, Christian Slater, Martin Sheen, Helen Hunt, Heather Graham, Ashton Kutcher, Laurence Fishburne

From visionary director Geoffrey Wright, whose debut feature ROMPER STOMPER changed the landscape of Australian cinema forever, and the co-producers of CHOPPER comes this gritty, elegant and ferociously inventive contemporary adaptation of Shakespeare's play 'Macbeth', set against the drama of the Melbourne underworld. Horses and swords are replaced by sports cars and machine guns, but the play's language remains the same.
Macbeth, the most gifted of killers, is rewarded for his services by his boss, Duncan, but the greater prize goes to Duncan's son, Malcolm. Under the influence of his wife, Macbeth kills Duncan and takes control. But 'blood will have blood' they say, and Macbeth must continue killing in order to maintain his fresh grip on power in an escalating cycle of violence.
Director Geoffrey Wright elicits superb performances from his cast. Sam Worthington has crafted a MACBETH that is smouldering with sexuality and brooding with violence. Victoria Hill
delivers a Lady Macbeth that is both sensual and devious, a talent on the rise. Cinematographer Will Gibson (WOLF CREEK, ROGUE) has created a vibrant world of dazzling neons and
pulsating colour.
Retaining the haunting insanity of Kurosawa's THRONE OF BLOOD and a touch reminiscent of Wong Kar Wai's FALLEN ANGELS, Geoffrey Wright's MACBETH will enthral a whole new generation.
Director: Geoffrey Wright
Cast: Sam Worthington, Victoria Hill, Lachy Hulme

An odyssey into the darkest recesses of terror from five of cinema's most volatile and revolutionary film makers – Monte Fellman, who defined independent cinema with his classic TWO LANE BLACK TOP – Ken Russell, who has ignited screens with his literate visions of sexuality and elegant horror – Sean Cunningham, who defined the slasher genre with his now legendary FRIDAY THE 13th – Joe Dante, who brought an edge and wit to modern cinema with his masterpieces THE HOWLING and GREMLINS, and the future of genre cinema, John Gaeta, whose visual effects creations on THE MATRIX TRILOGY redefined the boundaries of cinema.
Four tales, each with its distinctive perspective of the dark side. A struggling actress undergoes breast enhancement – using human cadavers instead of silicone, but her new found success soon turns sour when the breasts take on a murderous life of their own. An American couple travel to Japan for the first time, only to be haunted by the vengeful ghost of a Buddhist monk. Two ambitious young film makers find their friendship tested by the arrival of a beautiful young woman with Demonic intentions. A young woman finds her long lost twin – a
tape worm – is back to exact an excruciating vengeance on the parents that put it to death!
TRAPPED ASHES is an extreme taste in fear from the masters of independent cinema.
