BOBBY (Drama / Screening)

- Fri, 8th Sept, 08:00, C.I.D Auditorium

- Fri, 8th Sept, 20:00, C.I.D Auditorium

BOBBY is a fictionalised account of various people whose lives intersect in the hours leading up to and including the assassination of Senator Robert. F. Kennedy at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles.

The film is a journey of the heart that examines the relationships between men and women, between races and the social divisions that have clipped away the foundation of our humanity. We are given a glimpse into how life can be drastically changed in a moment in time, an indelible event in our nation's history. The characters are ordinary Americans who find themselves at the epicentre of one of the most important incidents of the 20th Century.

BOBBY is not a political story, though politics are certainly an undercurrent. It is not the story of Bobby Kennedy (seen solely in newsreel footage). Rather, it is the story of all of us.

BOBBY is seen through the eyes of twenty-two characters. The hope, excitement and notion that a change is in the air, which Kennedy ignited in us all, black and white, rich and poor, young and old was extinguished that evening in June. From young men in their late teens to early twenties, facing the possibility of shipping off to Vietnam, to the retired doorman of the Ambassador, who has greeted the likes of every U.S. President from FDR to Johnson. From the hotel staff to the guests whom occupy the suites, to the "Youth of Kennedy Volunteers", all ages and genders are represented in screenplay.

Director: Emilio Estevez

To the outside world Priscilla (Parker Posey) seems to have it all. A great career, a beautiful home and a perfect marriage to her husband, High School Teacher, Jack (Paul Rudd). But in reality Priscilla has a secret simmering beneath the surface... She has never had an orgasm, she has always been unable to fully 'let go'. It has left her unsatisfied and her marriage on shaky ground.

But now Priscilla has decided to take charge and seek a means to her end. In the pursuit for fulfillment she encounters many questionable devices and willing participants, including a sweet sex shop worker intent on helping in any way she can and a kooky sex therapist (Liza Minnelli).

While Priscilla searches for the illusive big OH, her husband, Jack is intent on proving his sexual worth by sleeping with one of his students, the manipulative and wise Kristen (Mischa Barton). But Priscilla's quest brings her release and fulfillment in the most unlikely form. The Pool Guy Wayne (Danny DeVito), a man who is least likely to be her match but has the rare ability of seeing the real her, and whose love ultimately sets her free...

Writer/Director Billy Kent has fashioned a candid, intimate, sweet and laugh out loud comedy about sex, the modern woman and the never-ending quest for true love.

Come Early Morning

COME EARLY MORNING (Drama / Screening)

- Mon, 4th Sept, 20:30, C.I.D Auditorium

- Tue, 5th Sept, 21:00, Casino Theate

As a result of her family's broken relationships, Lucy is terrified of opening her heart, and masking her fear of intimacy behind a tough, honky tonk swagger, she's lost count of the motel rooms she's snuck out of come early morning.

Having long since given up on love, Lucy's emotional life has been reduced to a self destructive spiral of one night stands and she's at a loss when she meets newcomer to town, Cal, who wants more.

Lucy snubs Cal's efforts to reach out to her, refusing to accept that she just may be turning her back on the best thing that's happened to her and her one chance for salvation.

Featuring a brave and gritty performance from Ashley Judd, in a way she has never been seen before, and a delicate and frank screenplay from first time director and acclaimed actress Joey Lauren Adams, COME EARLY MORING is a heart wrenching, intimate piece of American cinema.

Director: Joey Lauren Adams

Cast: Ashley Judd, Jeffrey Donovan, Laura Prepon, Tim Blake Nelson, Ray McKinnon (Credits may not be contractual)
