Easternlight is an exciting new label, launched in 2006 as part of Arclight Films, devoted to showcasing the best in Asian cinema.

With films from some of the world's most important contemporary filmmakers, to works by new artists who are yet to make their debut on the world stage, Easternlight is a label which will encompass all films regardless of genre or form. Easternlight will specialise in the production, sales, marketing and distribution of films from all regions of Asia.

Currently our slate includes the sumptuous and intimate epic JASMINE WOMEN, starring two of Chinese cinema's hottest stars, Golden Globe® nominee Zhang Zhiyi (MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA, CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON, HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS) and the luminous Joan Chen (THE LAST EMPEROR, TWIN PEAKS), plus the strikingly beautiful feature THE ROAD which received rave reviews in Variety after its recent Berlin debut, and hit Chinese film WAITING ALONE which was nominated for three awards, including "Best Picture" at the 2005 Chinese Academy Awards (Golden Rooster Awards) by hot young Chinese-American writer/director Dayyan Eng.

Under the same label you will find the lush new film by Ananda Anand entitled RETURN TO RAJAPUR, which was recently chosen for the prestigous Tribeca Film Festival in New York
