Sales rich for Bank Job

BERLIN -- Arclight's "The Bank Job," a heist thriller starring Jason Statham, has been sold in more than 40 territories worldwide.

The movie, directed by Roger Donaldson, tells the true story of a 1971 London bank robbery whose behind-the-scenes activities include murder, corruption and a sex scandal with link to the Royal Family.

The film already has been picked by Lionsgate for distribution in the U.S. and the U.K.

The deals made were with Movie-Eye Entertainment for Japan; Atlas Film + Medien for Germany, Austria, Luxembourg and Switzerland; New World Films for Spain; Nordisk for Scandinavia; Castello Lopes for Portugal; Maple Pictures for Canada; Spentzos Films for Greece and Cyprus; PT Parkit for the Indian subcontinent, Indonesia, Malaya and Singapore; and Bona Entertainment for China.

Other deals finalized include Media Pro for most Eastern European territories; Imagem Filmes and Telecine for Brazil; Aqua Pinema for Turkey; Gulf Film for the Middle East; Source Investments for Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands; SAMfilm for Iceland; Latin American Pay Television Service; and Entertainment in Motion for worldwide airlines.
